Through this expertise the Commons provides its clients with a specialised and comprehensive support service. Intrinsic to this high quality service provision is the ongoing professional development of all Information Commons staff in order to maximise the potential to utilise new learning technologies and developments in information technology and information management.

Continuous improvement is a key element to the success of the Commons. By actively seeking feedback from staff, students and clients, this facility provides high quality customer-focused service in support of the Institute's teaching and learning needs.

To accommodate clients' individual learning needs, the Information Commons maximises access to services and resources at a time and place which suits their needs. This flexible delivery of services means clients choose when and where they study, either within the Commons or remotely.

Planning for the provision of new technology within this environment is process-improvement driven. Technology is the enabler, ensuring that the Information Commons environment attracts clients by providing fast, effective and responsive electronic access to its wide range of online learning and information services.

Strategic alliances with business is a key factor in the success of the Information Commons, providing mutual benefit to both parties. The Information Commons' state of the art technology provides companies with an ideal venue to train their staff. The financial support in turn facilitates the ongoing provision of newer and more responsive information technology.
