Australian Association of Social Workers The AASW is the professional representative body of social workers in Australia.  AASW provides various information for social workers including publications.
The Association of Children's Welfare Agencies The Association of Children's Welfare Agencies (ACWA) supports non government agencies and aims at improving the quality of services to children and young people who need to live away from their families. This site provides press releases, submissions, research reports and reviews, and issues papers, and some of the policy relevant information resources from the Association.
Abused Child Trust This organisation provides specialised services for abused children and their families through individualised therapy programs in order to enable the child to achieve his or her full potential. The site includes statistics and tip sheets.
Child rights Information Network Child rights Information Network is a global network of children's rights organisations seeking to support the effective exchange of information about children and their rights.
National Child Protection Clearinghouse The National Child Protection Clearinghouse is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Family and Community Services under the auspices of the Australian Council for Children and Parenting as part of the Commonwealth's response to the problem of child abuse. The National Child Protection Clearinghouse, which has operated from the Australian Institute of Family Studies since 1995, provides information service to workers in the field. Information found at his site includes a full text newsletter, the Family and Society abstracts database and an email discussion list.

Australian Institute of Family Studies

The Institute is a Commonwealth Government research and information agency. The website provides extensive list of full-text articles, reports, statistics, conference proceedings and links to government and other related sites.

Australian Institute of Health and Welfare Provides information on health and welfare statistics as well as statistics on drug use in Australia.
Department of Human Services This is the official website for the Victorian Government's Human Services Department. It provides the latest information on the various departments and their services, publications, research and policies.
The Source The Source is an Australian Government Initiative. It provides information about programmes and services for young people. It includes the latest research and publications about young people.

Fitzroy Legal Services The Fitzroy Legal Service provides free legal advice to  persons who live, work or study in Fitzroy, Collingwood, Carlton, Abbotsford, Clifton Hill, Brunswick, Richmond and East Melbourne. Useful links to Non Government Organisations in Victoria, Australasia , and internationally.
Make a Noise Make A Noise is the official homepage of Youth Suicide Prevention in the Greater Murray, a project for young people, run by young people. Make A Noise is about young people making their own decisions about their health, and taking responsibility for keeping themselves healthy. 
Australian Clearinghouse for Youth Studies This site provides information products and services for those working in the youth field, and for anyone with an interest in youth.They publish the journal "Youth Studies Australia" and the free email newsletter, "Youth Field Express". Select the Topical resources form the home page for A-Z topical guide to key organisations.
Australian Youth Facts and Stats As the name suggests, this site is good for facts and statistics on youth matters. References are given to direct you to more detailed statistics and information.

Eating Disorders Support Network This site has information on what to do as a parent, friend or partner of someone with an eating disorder.
Information Exchange The Info Xchange provides many services without registration. However to get the full benefits of the site registration is recommended for infocasts and intranets relevant to a field of study. It provides a long and comprehensive list of links to organisations connected with drug and alcohol use.
Reach out! Reach Out! is a cool site aimed at young people, and provides a number of very basic factsheets on a wide range of topics. It contains three sub-sites - Chill Out!, Family & Friends and Professional Forum - and a map-based database, Who Cares?. They do not operate a counselling service but do provide telephone numbers for those seeking immediate help. The site has numerous related links.

Youth Studies Australia The journal, Youth Studies Australia is published quarterly by the Australian Clearinghouse for Youth Studies, University of Tasmania with funding from the Commonwealth Youth Bureau, Department of Family and Community Services

Homelessness

Council to Homeless Persons The Council to Homeless Persons is a peak body representing homeless persons' agencies in Victoria. There are number of information sheets and full text policies.
Housing and homelessness This section of Infxchange has excellent information on all aspects of homelessness.
Advocates for Survivors of Child abuse Excellent information and statistics on child abuse.
Australian Domestic and Family Violence Clearing house The Clearinghouse is a central point for the collection and dissemination of Australian domestic and family violence policy, practice and research. It aims to meet the information needs of government agencies, generalist and specialist service providers, researchers and interested members of the public. Full text newsletter articles and issue papers are available. There are also many resources that are only indexed.
Domestic Violence and Incest Resource Centre The Domestic Violence & Incest Resource Centre (DVIRC) is a Victorian state-wide resource centre for information about domestic violence and sexual assault. The website provides an online document library with an extensive list of full text reports and articles. It also provides Government policies and strategies, information sheets and links to other services.
NAPCAN NAPCAN is the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse & Neglect. It is a non government, not for profit, volunteer based organisation. This site includes numerous factsheets and other educational resources. 
Australian Clearing House for Youth Studies Various search options are available: search the index to the journal "Youth Studies of Australia" under the headings "Crime and Justice" and "Indigenous Youth"; search the excellent subject guide to resources, which includes links to web pages, under headings above. 
Australian Institute of Criminology Search for "young offenders" using both basic of advanced search options.
Department of Human Services Victoria Provides information on "youth justice" and 'youth studies' in the "children, youth and familes division."'
Lawlink NSW (NSW Attorney General's Department)

Lawlink NSW is hosted by the Attorney General's Department of NSW. It is a government portal website to law and justice agencies in New South Wales. Lawlink NSW is the umbrella site to more than 40 law and justice agencies.

Logan Youth Legal Service A Queensland-based legal aid page for youth, which has a useful resources page with links to Australian and overseas web pages.
Lawstuff - know your rights Basic state-orientated legal information aimed at the under 18 year olds. Intended for general information rather than advice.
Victoria Legal Aid This site contains information on issues such as school, sex, body piercing, carrying weapons, alchohol, health, police and courts, relationships, security guards and tattoos. Aimed at young people. 

Suicide

Beyond Blue On this site there are symptoms checklists, shared stories of depression, and research topics of interest available. This is a site that aims to raise community awareness of mental illness and to destigmatise it in society.
DepressioNet DepressioNet provides a comprehensive resource for Australians with depression and their families and friends. The dNet team are Australians from a variety of backgrounds who have had personal experiences with depression. resources include articles, research and good overview of what is depression and the various medications and treatments.

Mindframe - Reporting suicide and mental illness

This website is an online companion to the publication Reporting suicide and mental illness - a resource for media professionals. The resource was developed with the assistance of media professionals, suicide and mental health experts and consumer organisations to inform responsible and appropriate reporting of suicide and mental illness, to minimise harm and copycat behaviour, and reduce the stigma and discrimination experienced by people who have or have had a mental illness.
