Podcasts
Would you like to know more about the services of the Information Commons,
but don't have a great deal of time?
Why not try listening to a podcast?
What's in our podcasts?
The Holmesglen Information Commons are creating a range of podcasts
with helpful tips covering everything students could possibly need
to know! Our first podcast is complete and ready to listen to -
just click the link on the left.
We will be adding new podcasts to the site on a regular basis, so
make sure you check back often to download and listen to our latest
offering!
What equipment is needed to listen to a podcast?
You don’t need to have an iPod (or any other portable MP3 player,
for that matter) in order to listen to a podcast.
All that is necessary is a computer with an Internet connection, software
(which enables you to subscribe to and
download the podcast as well as play it) and some headphones or speakers
so that you can hear the audio file.
How can I find out when a new podcast is up?
If you subscribe to our podcasts, your software, or ‘podcatcher’,
will automatically download each new podcast
as it becomes available. There are many different podcatchers around
– see this list to see what’s available: http://www.podcastingnews.com/topics/Podcast_Software.html

To subscribe to all Holmesglen Information Commons podcasts, right
click on the POD icon above and choose
"Copy Shortcut". Paste this link into the url field of your
podcatcher. Or, you can copy and paste the following
link into your podcatcher: http://www.ic.holmesglen.vic.edu.au/services/Podcasts/Poderator.xml
You can listen to or subscribe to individual podcasts from the links
on the left.
We welcome your comments and feedback.
